Here is one that is great to help kids not lose their academic advantage during the long summer off. It's the Barnes & Noble summer reading program for kids.
Since this is the 20th Anniversary of Barnes & Noble's Summer Reading Program they are having some extra special events. If you're not familiar with the program, check it out. All the details are on this link. You can sign you kids up online this year. The link I've included tells you how to do that.
This year the program consists of your child reading 3 books, and completing a journal about the books they've read. They can bring their completed journals to their local Barnes & Nobles by September 6, 2016. Then the child receives a Free book from the list of available books. The program is for grades 1 through 6.
