I'M BACK

Hi everyone. I've been away from posting for 6 months. At the end of July I moved. It was a really big chore for me, as I had to do it all myself. I had moving men, but I had to do all the packing, and everything else involved in moving.

Not feeling so good didn't help either. Anyway, I made it through that, and planned on only being away from my blog for a couple of months to get settled, but when I moved here, I found out they didn't have internet access! I couldn't believe it, because they had told us we would have it.

It is a brand new development, and they had a contract with Verizon for us to be able to have high speed DSL, but Verizon didn't honor the contract. I'm not surprised anymore at how awful Verizon is, as I also had trouble simply getting a phone when I first moved in. Shortly after I moved in they went on strike, and were playing with customers for a couple of weeks before the planned strike. I didn't find this out until much later, and many days of sitting and waiting for no one to show up.

Long story short, I was without internet for about a month, then I had to relent and get dial-up, yes, can you believe it in this day and age. That was because this development wouldn't allow other internet companies onto the property, like Comcast, etc., since they had a contract with awful Verizon.

Dial-up was even worst then I remembered from the early days, and I couldn't even access my own blog, let alone, videos, and almost anything else.

I eventually learned of mobile interent, yes, I'm behind the times in computers. So I settled onto Clear using a USB device I had to purchase. It is mostly all right so far, but very expensive, but at least I can access most things now including this blog, and videos. So I plan on trying to get this blog back on track. I can't blog everyday, but will try to get things up that are important.

I will work on getting all the contests updated as a lot of the ones posted are now expired, hopefully someone won something who entered from one of my links. I also come here to enter the contests daily as it is easy having all great contests on one page, and all I have to do is clink the links and enter, so I've missed it myself.

I've also started a number of other natural treatments, and as soon as I have definite information about how they are working for me, I'll post about that too.

Take care, and Happy New Year to everyone.  I'm optimistic about 2012, and believe this year will be a much better one than last year.

Wishing you all the best in good health and wealth.

HAPPY EASTER

Hi, I want to wish everyone who celebrates, a Happy Easter.

I hope everyone who dyed eggs this year used natural dyes, and followed my post from last Easter. If you didn't, check it out, and make sure you dye them the natural way next year. You want to get all artifical dyes out of all your food. The dyes do leak through the shell into the egg, because the shell is permeable.

In fact, this is a good time to get all dyes out of your diet. Please read all labels before you buy. Better yet, don't buy any processed foods, that will get them out of your food, although there are still a lot of dyes in medicines, even over the counter drugs. Think of the "pink stuff."

This is also the time of the year when everyone is doing a lot of spring cleaning. So this is the perfect time to clean up your diet, and environmental pollutants. Please, please, everyone get rid of the chemical cleaners, not only are you poisoning yourself and your families, but all that stuff gets into the water system, and all of our environment. We have more then enough chemicals already.

I want everyone to remember that all the chemical cleaners that go down the drains, and all the medicine laced waste that gets flushed away, eventually becomes our drinking water, and most water processing systems do not remove most chemical toxins, VOCs and medicines.

We've all heard the reports of how we all being medicated because there are so many drugs in our drinking water; we can all do our part to clean up for ourselves, our families, and for everyone.

Good Health and Wealth.

FRUGAL ALERT! - JOIN RECYCLEBANK AND EARN FREE GIFTS

Hi all, join Recyclebank (for free) and earn points for free gifts. Here is the link.  They also have a contest going on now.

This is very frugal, because not only can you earn free gifts, but you will save money by recycling, and using less energy. Can we all say "lower electric and gas bills?"

This is a great time to join in, with Earth Day, April 22, 2011, coming up. If we all conserve energy, not only will our air, water, and earth be cleaner, but maybe we can all do away with those awful nuclear power plants.

Please remember to turn off the lights when you are not in the room (a pet peeve of mine). There are many other ways to conserve, and save money at the same time. Combine errands to use less gas. Plug appliances into a circuit breaker, and turn the breaker off at night, and when not in use. Eat organic. Recycle everything you possibly can. Save on heating and cooling cost, by lowering and raising the thermostat. Consider buying used instead of new. Many things are worth it, furniture, clothing, and seldom used items, etc. On the other hand, it is usually better to buy new energy efficient appliances; they will save you money in the long run with lower energy costs.

Good Health and Wealth,

Jeanne

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM NUCLEAR RADIATION

Hi, I want everyone to have access to this information. David Wolfe is one of the most knowledgeable people on alternative health and healing. Take heed of this advice. God bless us all, and especially the Japanese people on the forefront of this disaster. When will we all learn? As I'm living through this, it reminds me so much of the movie (and book) "On The Beach". We at least have time to stop this madness, but will we? No one wants to live near a nuclear power plant, but so many of us do. When are we going to learn to conserve energy, or at least drastically cut back, and ONLY accept safe alternatives, i.e., solar, wind, and hydropower?

Here is a link to David Wolfe's facebook page (he's a public figure) where he has a link to his interview where he talks about the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, and what steps we can take to shield ourselves from harmful radiation. This is good practice in our usual daily lives as well as those that are, and will be, affected by this disaster, since we live with a lot of radiation exposure in normal modern day living.

UPDATE:  Since this link is to his facebook page, and subsequent posts have made it difficult for some to find the link to his audios on this important information, look for the link in his March 16, 2011 post, that is where you will find it.  He also has an updated post on March 19, 2011, with even more information, so you need to check that one out too.

David Wolfe interview.

Updated information:  It seems you have to be signed in to your facebook account to access David Wolfe's facebook page to listen to the recordings.

SENDING HEALING THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO JAPAN

Hi, even though I'm still recuperating from a wisdom tooth extraction, I just had to post today, to say that many here in the U.S. are sending healing thoughts and prayers to our friends in Japan. The unspeakable things that have been happening there make us all appreciate what we have a little bit more, and wish that the people in Japan will be healed.

I know how energy works, and if we all send healing thoughts and/or prayers, whatever is right for you, to them, it will help. Thoughts and prayers are energy, so we all need to uplift them with our energy, thoughts, prayers, gifts, and any way that we are personally able to help.

I'm wishing you all, especially the people of Japan, blessings, and Good Health and Wealth.

SIGN UP FOR THE 2011 TAPPING WORLD SUMMIT--IT'S FREE

Hi, it's that time of year again. Time for the Tapping World Summit. If you attended last year's Summit then you know how informative, and helpful it is.

It is in the same format this year. Ten days of interviews, starting tomorrow, and each one is available for free for 24 hours. If you miss any, or want to be able to have them to review, you can purchase them. I like the fact that they let us have free access for 24 hours, it is great for those who can't afford to purchase them.

This is worth your time and attention in my opinion. I've attended the Summits for the past two years, and gained much knowledge from them.

If you are new to EFT, tapping, or MTT, all correct terms, you will be able to learn how to do it. If you are an old hand at it, I bet you will still get a lot out of it. I always do.

Sign up right away, it starts tomorrow, Monday evening, February 21. Here is the link.

FREE - FRUGAL ALERT!

Hi, I just want to share this link with you. I didn't put it on my Contests/Sweepstakes page, since it is a very small prize to win, but
there are so many winners (2,000 a week) that I wanted you all to know about it.

You can enter every day, and the prize is a month of Pillsbury's Toaster Strudel. It ends on 2/7/11, so enter every day until then.

While I don't recommend eating a lot of processed foods, an occasional treat is fine, if you are healthy. I figure if you are buying this type of food anyway, why not get some for free.

I actually won once, but haven't received it yet. The prize will be in the form of coupons for four free boxes. It is an instant contest so you will find out right away if you are a winner. Each person can win up to three times.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WIN A NEW HOME!

Hi, Happy New Year everybody! I hope everyone enjoyed any, and all of the holidays you celebrated.

It is hard to believe it is a new year already. I know we say that every year, but 2011 is a new decade in this century, and it seems like only yesterday we were all "preparing" for Y2K, the start of this century. I guess the old adage, "The older you get, the quicker time passes," is true, lol.

I want to let you know that I posted the links on my Contests/Sweepstakes page (at the top of this page) for the new HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes.  It runs until February 18, 2011, when the lucky winner will be chosen. I say links, because you can enter twice every day from the two different links.  I have the links posted at the beginning of the list, numbered 1 and 2.

I will be cleaning up the page, since a lot of sweepstakes ended at the end of last month, and I will be posting new ones also, so look for those, in the next couple of days.  Meanwhile, I wanted to let everyone know so that you can come back every day to enter the Dream Home Sweepstakes. I've made it very easy to do, so I'm hoping the winner will be one of us.

This year's dream home is in Stowe, Vermont, and with all the prizes, including $500,000 cash, it is worth over $2 million. What a great way to start the New Year!

Good luck to us all!

Good Health and Good Wealth,

Jeanne

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

I thought for today I would post the infamous story about the letter from little Virgina O'Hanlon in 1897, and the response by Francis P. Church in the New York Sun entitled, "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus."

I'm sure most of you have read it at some point, but it is always fun to read it again, so here it is.

Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus

Editorial Page, New York Sun, 1897

We take pleasure in answering thus prominently the communication below, expressing at the same time our great gratification that its faithful author is numbered among the friends of The Sun:

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?
Virginia O'Hanlon

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a sceptical age. They do not believe except what they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus? Thank God he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

From The People's Almanac, pp. 1358-9.

Francis P. Church's editorial, "Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" was an immediate sensation, and became one of the most famous editorials ever written. It first appeared in the The New York Sun in 1897, almost a hundred years ago, and was reprinted annually until 1949 when the paper went out of business.

Thirty-six years after her letter was printed, Virginia O'Hanlon recalled the events that prompted her letter:

"Quite naturally I believed in Santa Claus, for he had never disappointed me. But when less fortunate little boys and girls said there wasn't any Santa Claus, I was filled with doubts. I asked my father, and he was a little evasive on the subject.

"It was a habit in our family that whenever any doubts came up as to how to pronounce a word or some question of historical fact was in doubt, we wrote to the Question and Answer column in The Sun. Father would always say, 'If you see it in the The Sun, it's so,' and that settled the matter.

" 'Well, I'm just going to write The Sun and find out the real truth,' I said to father.

"He said, 'Go ahead, Virginia. I'm sure The Sun will give you the right answer, as it always does.' "

And so Virginia sat down and wrote her parents' favorite newspaper.

Her letter found its way into the hands of a veteran editor, Francis P. Church. Son of a Baptist minister, Church had covered the Civil War for The New York Times and had worked on the The New York Sun for 20 years, more recently as an anonymous editorial writer. Church, a sardonic man, had for his personal motto, "Endeavour to clear your mind of cant." When controversial subjects had to be tackled on the editorial page, especially those dealing with theology, the assignments were usually given to Church.

Now, he had in his hands a little girl's letter on a most controversial matter, and he was burdened with the responsibility of answering it.

"Is there a Santa Claus?" the childish scrawl in the letter asked. At once, Church knew that there was no avoiding the question. He must answer, and he must answer truthfully. And so he turned to his desk, and he began his reply which was to become one of the most memorable editorials in newspaper history.

Church married shortly after the editorial appeared. He died in April, 1906, leaving no children.

Virginia O'Hanlon went on to graduate from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Arts degree at age 21. The following year she received her Master's from Columbia, and in 1912 she began teaching in the New York City school system, later becoming a principal. After 47 years, she retired as an educator. Throughout her life she received a steady stream of mail about her Santa Claus letter, and to each reply she attached an attractive printed copy of the Church editorial. Virginia O'Hanlon Douglas died on May 13, 1971, at the age of 81, in a nursing home in Valatie, N.Y.
